Accounting Associate

InterCambio is currently seeking an Accounting Associate to play an integral role in the Finance area. The position will interface regularly with the controller and the accounting staff.    In the role of Accounting Associate, the individual will be primarily responsible for the completion of the daily bank reconcilement duties, including oversight and upkeep of the bank account activity, foreign correspondent order clearing and accounts payable.  

Location: Elkhart, IN
Position Type: Full-time Non Exempt
Education: Two year or Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred: Accounting Degree

Job Purpose
This individual provides support as it relates to the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the recording or clearing of money transfers paid by our correspondent affiliates and reconciling both domestic and foreign bank accounts in the USA, Mexico and Central America.


Duties
Reconcile domestic and foreign bank accounts daily for movement or clearing of funds.
Post and record clearing of correspondent orders paid by our affiliated correspondent providers and additional services offered outside of money transfers.
Organize, prepare and record Accounts Payable payments.
General clerical duties include photocopying, fax, scanning, mailing and emailing.
Maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system of paid bills.
File and retrieve documents from filing system for bank account reconcilements.
Prepare written responses to routine inquiries.
Update and maintain Excel worksheets for tracking of accounting activities.
Assist controller or other Finance staff with various administrative or special programs as requested or as responsibilities permit.
Resolves administrative problems by coordinating preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying solutions.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications
Reporting Skills, Writing Skills, Microsoft Office Skills, Managing Processes, Organization, Analyzing Information , Professionalism, Problem Solving, Verbal Communication. 
Preferably be able to speak, write and read in both English and Spanish.
Must have a Driver’s License and be able to drive.
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
Ability and willingness to work some early mornings, evenings and weekend days.
Ability to travel for short business trips.

Customer Service Representative

Duty and Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls.
  • Process customer orders, professionally and follow our Quality policy 
  • Assure necessary documents for order processing.
  • Enter customer correct information and requests.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints.
  • Transfer calls to corresponding department as needed.
  • Route incoming faxes to corresponding department.
  • Enter complaints into the company system.
  • Confirm orders assigned by State.
  • Request cancelation of orders.
  • Comply with our phone greeting and Quality policy 
  • Understanding and ability to explain the different statuses of an order.
  • Check the department queue for calls on hold.
  • Ability to manage a difficult customer or agency.
  • Meet with monthly transaction productivity 
  • Respect company policies in place

Duty and Responsibilities

 

  • Provided the customer service in person, regarding  check cashing and money services
  • Maintain and adequate cash drawer at all times
  • Balance cash drawer in accordance with procedures
  • Cross-sell money services
  • Assist Branch Manager in team building and problem solving 
  • Perform all duties professionally and within the company quality service standards, including maintaining customer confidentiality
  • Successfully complete all applicable compliance training

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to read and write in Spanish (is a must)
  • Strong communication & organization skills
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy

Experience
