National Hispanic Heritage Month

From September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated. It is a month where the achievements and contributions of people of Hispanic origin in the United States are honored. For us, it is a very important celebration, as it appeals to the successes, influences and contributions of our presence in this country.

This tradition began in 1968, when Hispanic Heritage Week was approved by President Lyndon Johnson. Twenty years later, in August 1988, President Ronald Reagan wanted to make a wider recognition of Hispanic Americans, and for this, Congress passed the Law 100-402 that extends the celebration for a period of 31 days, which is denominated National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15.

Today, in the United States, the culture and traditions of residents of this country, with roots in Spain, Mexico and Spanish-speaking countries in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, are celebrated more than ever.

Every day the role played by Hispanic Americans in this country is more noticeable; in business, sports, culture, politics, music, science and in every aspect of American life, the contribution of our culture is reflected.
